4 Gang light switch wiring diagram

A -way dimmer diagram is included as well as an arrangement to control the lights from four different points. Clear, easy-to-read diagrams for household electrical light switches with wiring instructions. Three- wire cable is supplying the source for both switches with the black and red wires going to the bottom switch terminals. The black wire from each light is connected to the top terminal of their respective switch.


The lever does not have an ON or OFF label.

I tried to wire as above (Way) with extra intermediate switch but the 4th switch does not work, any help please? What are the switches in this here fine diagram? If your circuit has the new cable colours see: Two- way switching (wire control, new cable colours). This is the preferred approach.


In this state the lamp is off, changing the position of either switch will switch the live . When the switch is on, both terminals are connected together. Typically, these terminals will be marked COM.
