One way lighting diagram

Wiring details for one way lighting circuits as used in the UK. One way switching - Plastic switches. The diagrams above show the new and old colour codes.


These diagrams show various methods of one , two and multiple way switching. Switches are shown as dotted rectangles.

When the switch is on, both terminals are connected together.

Typically, these terminals will be marked COM.

All work carried out should comply with all applicable Wiring Regulations. Read the instructions carefully before commencing installation. Incorrect installation will invalidate your guarantee. Connect the cables as shown in the diagram. This is because two way switches can also be used on one way circuits . It shows the connections between supply from mains to ceiling rose, light bulb and light swit.
