Slough arm canal

It was originally opened to serve the brick-making industry. We mainly focus on picking up litter but variety is always good. The Slough Canal Arm , photos and walking the towpath alongside the Slough Canal which travels between Peachey Junction and Slough , England.

The Slough Arm of the Grand Union Canal runs from Slough via Langley and Iver to the Cowley Peachey Junction (south of Uxbridge).

It has been claimed as the last ever canal built in the UK.

This is not entirely true, however one can say that it was the last traditional broad canal ever to be built by any of the old canal companies. In this case it was the Grand Junction . The route is almost straight with no locks and few other features of interest along its length. When you reach the Slough Arm of the Grand Union. Canal turn right and continue along the towpath.

CANAL BASIN REDEVELOPMENT TO BE PART OF SLOUGH URBAN RENEWAL. This brings you up to the fairly no-nonsense metal bridge that carries you over the Slough Arm of the Grand Union Canal. Cross over this and turn right and follow the towpath, again marked as Beeches Way. At this point you leave both the London Loop and the Colne Valley Trail.
