Two way lighting circuit

Two way switching means having two or more switches in different locations to control one lamp. They are wired so that operation of either switch will control the light. Please note that the some of the below diagrams have been drawn with the older cable core colours, others with the new cable colours.

Switches are shown as dotted rectangles. One thing to remember is that the wiriing on light switches is ONLY switching the live wires (NOT the neutral.) If you see.
